Wiki-wiki-wooo-di-wiggidy-wooooo

Hey Folks! Looks like a lot of you woke up early this morning to get yourself a fresh cup of blog. For those of you potential American fans/haters, Yam Roll will be airing on Cartoon Network this fall. In the meantime, here's a little clip from one of our favourite 11-minute episodes. Have a look and judge the animation and design for yourself! (we recomend that you view the clip before commenting, but as you can see from previous posts, that is not mandatory) Basically, all we are saying...is give peace a chance!

funny.. really funny. i love the crazy mouth expressions. Congrats on the upcoming success you will have at cartoon network. i know the little ones in our house will be cracking up...

Oh yeah and Pete (cause we knows you are a readin)congrats on that huggies puzzle and ted danson illustration featured in a 1986 issue of entertainment weekly. And the teaching gig where poor kids have to sit in your class forced to listen to you for credits.

come on guys you are putting us all on with this right? you made up Pete and that website with all that artwork. i mean the latest copyright on any of the pics is 2002 and the web design is really bad too... please tell us this guy is a fictional character to generate blog buzz off of cartoon brew.....

Hey Jon,
Looks like fans of the show have convinced Jerry at Cartoon Brew to back down from his negative stance and give the show a chance.
His original posting has been edited.

I really like those miniscule cartoons hidden in the tiniest parts of the background art. I have a bootleg DVD of Yam Roll, and I zoom in on said areas like, all the time. They sure are yummy.

Hey Jon (and others involved) This is the first clip i've seen as I've been away from Canada for a bit. Looks awesome! Really funny.

The animation and visual quality is there, but the vocal performance from which the "party" bit is drawn is very weak, it goes on way too long and the otherwise competent animation is too reserved for the antics of whatever the hell that thing is. The design is great. The TV studio set is distinctive and cool to look at. The clip seems to shoot for wackiness but it's a little too contained, as if at some point in the production there's a stifling influence that prevents the show from zooming along like SPONGEBOB or the ugly but massively hilarious AQUA TEENS. But, I wanted to see more anyway. I'll definitely check out YAMROLL when it's on CN.

Looking at the clip again, I'm getting strong whiffs of Don Hertzfeldt and 12 OZ. MOUSE and the "bean/Broodwich" segments from AQUA TEEN and Marder's BEANWORLD itself. Thems is good influences...

hey doods

FYI...I deleted the post above.

It was a huge note from an anonomous in support of YR and crtitcizing Mr. Emslie (I mean huge. It was a novel...sorry to delete all the hard work!). Although it was seriously appreciated and seriously true, I'm gonna try and ease up all the negative poop Mr Emslie has forced people to write about him...especially when it is not supported with a name. Constructive criticism is always welcome, but lets not get personal.
Thanks for all your support folks!...We'll keep on trying to have some fun
One last sorry to the dood that i deleted. It was a pleasure to read.

Izen, I seriously want one of those Yam Roll dolls. I was a little heartbroken I didn't win one at the launch party.
